HONE is one of the first technologies to be certified to the new ISO 9806 global standard.
ISO 9806 specifies test methods forassessing the durability, reliability and safety for fluid heating collectors and came into being at the beginning of 2016. ISO 9806 is the most advanced global standard for this technology. (ISO9806 supercedes EN12975 for example)
It also includes test methods for the thermal performance characterization of fluid heating collectors, namely steady-state and quasi-dynamic thermal performance of glazed and unglazed liquid heating solar collectors and steady-state thermal performance of glazed and unglazed air heating solar collectors (open to ambient as well as closed loop).
It is also applicable to hybrid collectors generating heat and electric power. However it does not cover electrical safety or other specific properties related to electric power generation.

What are the benefits of the SK for consumers
HONE is Keymark certified by TUV Rhineland GmbH and DIN CERTO in Germany.
BAFA - Germany Federal Approved Product.
The German Government have Federal grants and annual energy payments based on a tariff of 0.45/kWhr.
HONE Thermal systems are approved products by the German Federal Government.
The applications can be hot water, combined heating & hot water, cooling or heating power supply (electricity).
For process heating, additional innovation funding of 50% is available above the base funding. Investment costs can be (including planning costs and cost of system integration) for initial setup and expansion of solar collectors granted to predominant solar process heat supply.
A combination bonus, you can apply for different plant combinations with an eligible collector system.
For optimization measures in connection with the simultaneous construction of a collector system, whose funding is also granted may be paid once an investment grant.
A building efficiency bonus of up to 50 percent of the base support can be granted if the plant will be built in an efficient residential building that counts for existing buildings.

HONE is SRCC Certified.The Solar Rating & Certification Corporation currently administers a certification, rating and labeling program for collectors and a similar program for complete thermal water heating systems.
The SRCC's certification program operating guidelines, test methods & minimum standards, and rating methodologies require the administration of nationally accepted equipment tests on thermal equipment by independent laboratories that are approved by the SRCC.
The test results and product data are evaluated by the SRCC to determine the product's compliance with the minimum standards for certification, and to calculate the performance ratings.
HONE is one of the first technologies to be certified to the new ISO 9806 Keymark Registration No 011-7S2527 R.
ISO 9806 Keymark is now the new global standard for thermal panel systems and hence is automatically MCS Certified BUT will no longer be listed on the MCS product listing as it is not required.
ISO 9806 Keymark listings are held on the CENLEC database which is available via the MCS website HERE. Both Keymark and Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) are internationally recognised quality assurance schemes, supported by the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy..
MCS is a local UK scheme and ISO9806 Keymark is the world's largest quality assurance scheme originally developed by the European Union and now deployed globally.
HONE is HARP Certified. The Home-Heating Appliance Register of Performance database (HARP Database) is a product efficiency database for home heating appliances that are used in Ireland.
The database is used for the following purposes: > To provide registered BER Assessors with specific product efficiency information which they can use when calculating BER's for dwellings. "SEAI website":
The listings of thermal collectors on the HARP database provides information such as efficiencies and heat loss values. It is important to note that efficiency figures given on HARP are NOT TO BE USED ON THEIR OWN. These values are a component of a bigger calculation in the BER software.
